Dejoria was introduced to RIDE TV when the company requested an interview with him while filming Horses that Heal at The Arbor – a therapeutic horse riding facility in Georgetown, Texas – supported by him and his wife, Eloise. Michael Fletcher, chief executive officer for RIDE TV, was there when DeJoria expressed interest in investing in RIDE TV.
“We finished this amazing interview and John Paul mentioned his interest in investing in RIDE TV,” Fletcher said. “I was shocked that an iconic business leader was interested in partnering with RIDE TV. John Paul is a visionary and truly wants to grow the love of horses; I can’t imagine a better partner.”
In commenting on his reasons for investing in RIDE TV, DeJoria stated, “My family and I are into horses, and so are my super pals at Ranchero Visitadores. So, it’s only fitting to be able to support countless hours of watching exciting events and programs on RIDE TV.” The Rancheros Visitadores (“Visiting Ranchers”) is an exclusive social club that does an annual trail ride on horseback and raises money for charity.
Both DeJoria and Fletcher are bullish on the growth of RIDE TV. According to the U.S. Horse Council, the $102 billion horse lifestyle market includes 30 million Americans who ride horses every year, one out of every 63 Americans who interact daily with horses and the tens of millions who participate annually as horse owners or spectators in every state.
RIDE TV was recently launched on Armstrong, a cable provider in the North East, and has already secured distribution with several cable systems and one major Telco operator. The channel is also available nationwide through KlowdTV (https://klowdtv.com) on any device with a high speed Internet connection.
“The next 15 months will see huge growth in the U.S. and internationally. We are building a television network that will have a huge impact on the horse world, be financially successful and enrich the lives of people everywhere with an innate love for horses,” Fletcher said.
