My Week in Horse Memes
Hey friends! Each week I spend a lot of time in the saddle between legging my barrel horse up and my jumping lessons. I wouldn't trade it for anything! Here's this past week's horse journal illustrated with hilarious and relatable horse memes... Enjoy!
Monday
"On Mondays, we saddle our horses at 6:30 AM." Three days a week I get up extra early to ride Joe Joe before school, work, church, lessons, etc! I love it, and sometimes even enjoy a cup of coffee while walking him out. Nothing beats loping your horse out as the sun is coming up and the birds are chirping!
Tuesday
On Tuesday I took Joe to do a couple exhibitions for the first time in two years! I needed to get him away from the house to see how he would handle everything. We trotted the first exhibition, then during number two he got excited and I let him get away with me. I ended up buying a third so I could slow him back down and work on that rate! #freerunners
Wednesday
My English lessons are on Wednesday evenings, and I've been cantering and trotting over small jumps. Skeeter was feeling a little quirky this day, which kept things interesting! I get excited each time my trainer raises my jumps higher, even if it's just by a little bit! Gotta start somewhere :)
Thursday
Thursday we took a leisurely bareback ride to ease our minds! I love these moments. The weather was warm, the flowers have were blooming, so the aroma hit with each breeze! All of my neighbors were out roping, so I just soaked up the sound of hooves beating and chutes opening!
Friday
By Friday I had "horse brain", and found myself clucking and kissing at my dogs when I wanted them. We all know what it's like to let a "whoa" or a "walk on" slip in public! #horseproblems
Saturday
On most Saturdays you can catch me running errands around town, and there's a good chance I smell just like barn! There's also a good chance my hair is in a bun, under a baseball cap, and my jeans are a little dirty!
Sunday
Sunday I cleaned out my tack room and hung up some more Command hooks for bridles, and velcro strips for sport and bell boots. I tweezed off all the stickers from my pile of polo wraps and rolled them back up neatly (let's see how long they stay like that)! I also put my new bit on a headstall and switched out the conchos on my saddle. It was a productive and relaxing day!
As equestrians, we're all very fortunate to be able to experience life with our horses day in, and day out! Sure, it can be hard work, but it's very rewarding! What memories have you and YOUR horse made this week? If you have a couple horse memes you would like to share with us, let us know below!
