Meet the Intern: Victoria
Hi my name is Victoria! I am the new marketing and communications intern for RIDE TV! I am currently a senior at Texas Christian University, majoring in Film/Television/Digital Media. Heading into my senior year, I am looking forward to gaining as much experience as I can at RIDE TV!
I grew up in a small town in the smallest state in the country, Rhode Island! I have an older brother, Nic, who played hockey his whole life. So, when I was younger I spent most my time sitting in a hockey rink. Although Nic failed to make me into a hockey player, he might have a shot when my nephew is old enough to put on skates! (Unless I get him into a barn first!) When I am not at the barn I love spending time with my friends and family! During the summers I try and make as much time to go to the beach as possible! My parents have always encouraged me to follow my dreams and support my passion for horses.
My interest in horses began at my second birthday party, when my dad hired someone to come and do pony rides! Instantly my parents regretted having the little paint pony come because from then on I became horse crazed. Finally, when I was seven for Christmas I was gifted riding lessons at a local stable. I can't remember the name of the pony from my birthday party, but I'll never forget the small black Shetland pony named Macaroni I rode for my first lesson!
After riding for a few years, my parents got sick me printing out ads of horses for sale and took me to look at a few horses. My first horse was a white thoroughbred named Casper. Although I've had a few horses since Casper, my once in a lifetime horse was Charly Brown. I was fifteen when Charly became mine and from that day I promised him he would be forever! After competing with Charly for six years in the jumpers, I retired him. Now he is fat and happy living the life in South Carolina.
I am excited for the opportunity to work here at RIDE TV! I can't wait to expand my skillset with the knowledge I gain here, while being able to incorporate my love of horses!
