Meet the Intern: Katelin Simonson
My name is Katelin Simonson and I am a new intern here at RIDE TV. I am a spunky blonde who loves animals, horses especially, as well as fishing, art, and just simply having a good time. I have a dog named Jade who is a beautiful, rescue Pitbull. She and I enjoy watching FRIENDS together and eating pepperoni pizza (just me, she is not allowed). My boyfriend, Chandler, and I enjoy fishing, and we occasionally fish bass tournaments together (he wants to go pro!). I am currently a marketing major at Baylor University and love using my creativity, my love for research, and my communication skills within my marketing classes.
I have been given the opportunity to work alongside the marketing team here at RIDE TV this summer and I could not be more excited to learn and grow within the marketing industry. As a senior at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, I have gone to my fair share of marketing classes. Now, I am ready for a chance to put my knowledge to the test with the real-world experience that RIDE TV will provide.
From a young age, I was enamored by horses, horse shows and the cute, western outfits that go along with it all. I started showing horses around the age of 10 in Western Pleasure, Reigning and Trail classes. Though I no longer show, I feel that my love and passion for horses will help me develop within this internship on a deeper level. For years, I thought about how I could integrate the things that I love into my career and RIDE TV is showing me exactly how to do that this summer. What is better than marketing horse shows? I can’t think of anything off the top of my head…
I hope to learn how marketing is used within the entertainment/television industry while also applying what I have learned about marketing from past internships and classes about promoting and marketing through social media, graphics and email. I have the utmost faith that the team here will assist me in improving my skills and in growing my knowledge set while also allowing me to work independently on important assignments.
