Arabian Nationals Recap
I had an exciting week in Arizona attending the 62nd Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. Scottsdale was a perfect home for the competition as the Arabian breed are well suited for desert climates. The show was held at the beautiful Westworld complex. The various competitions took place inside the Equidome and at the outdoor arenas. Here’s a look back at some of my favorite moments from this year’s event!
Scottsdale, AZ, is definitely worth a visit in February. The weather is the perfect (60-70 degree days) backdrop to showcase the magnificent Arabian breed. Arizona is known for having very hot summers, but going during the winter is a great way to escape the heat.
The outdoor arena’s banner read “The Greatest Horse Show on Earth,” and I can see why they have given themselves this title.
The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is a great event to see the Arabian breed take part in various disciplines. I was able to see reining, show jumping, cutting, dressage and more. Plus, there were numerous demos held during the week to educate the audience about the Arabian breed. If you are not familiar with Arabian horses, this is an event to definitely mark down on your calendar.
If you read my Palm Beach Masters blog, you know I like to sample the food at each event, and the options at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show did not disappoint. As the week progressed, I found myself gravitating to two vendors each day.
Also, I’m not going to count Chick-fil-A, which I had on the first day, as everyone should be familiar with their chicken nuggets. I 10/10 recommend them, however.
The first offered some of the best Chicken Pho (pronounced like “fuh”) I have ever tasted. I would usually add a sriracha swirl to kick mine up a notch.
These pictures do not do justice to how good this was, so I apologize!
My second favorite spot had some killer teriyaki chicken fried rice. The chicken is grilled making the meal a little more “healthy.” It’s the thought that counts!
Notice I put more sriracha on the top and I’ve realized I’m pretty good at taking “food in the air” shots while at events. This may become my signature photo op.
I also tried their crispy garlic chicken with fried rice, which was just as good as the regular teriyaki chicken fried ride. If you want fried chicken, definitely go with this one.
I may have a slight obsession with sriracha…
Lastly, I did branch out and try other food options, like this gyro and Greek salad.
It wasn’t my favorite meal at the event, but it was still delicious!
Overall, I had a fantastic time at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. I hope you enjoyed following along with me on the RIDE TV Instagram stories. Hats off to everyone who put on a world class event.
