Horses of the Day: Day One

Racehorses are not your average athletes, especially the All American Futurity qualifiers. These unique racehorses possess extreme speed. More importantly, these large animals have outstanding genetics, great trainers and passionate jockeys leading them to a potential victory on the track for the chance at $3 million. It’s safe to say these horses could become prized possessions for their owners. Read more about your favorite qualifier below. Thanks to DISH, you can tune in on RIDE TV and RIDE TV GO Monday, September 2 to watch LIVE coverage of the 2019 All American Futurity, starting at 5 pm | 4c.

Mister Riptide

This horse is faster than a blink of an eye. Mister Riptide raced to be the fastest qualifying horse on day one of the Futurity trials. This astonishing horse was born in New Mexico and was purchased for $22,000. Mister Riptide is a special horse who happens to be competing against his home friend, Lil Miss Sashay. Both horses are owned by Mark and Annette McCloy. Mister Riptide qualified with a speedy run of 21.681 with jockey Ricky Ramirez. We will see if Mister Riptide will be the fastest horse again on September 2.

Avyator

A horse that proves challenges are no match for him. This horse has spent time overcoming his weight issue, but the determination and hard work made him a racing horse. Avyator, despite being placed on a diet, became the fourth fastest qualifying horse on day one of the trials. Making a speedy run down the track in a time of just 21.808. This horse is a quality horse owned by JF Racing Farm, LLC worth $68,000. We’re excited to see how Avyator and jockey Rodrigo Vallejo perform this weekend!

DF Mischievous Jess

DF Mischievous Jess is considered a “problem child”. However, this horse matured just in time to win the thirteenth trial run with a time of 21.883. There is a lot of hope in this mischievous horse, for he was entered by a supplement of $50,000. DF Mischievous Jess’s trainer Jimmy Padgett states “he was not mentally there before”. He might have been the last horse into the All American Futurity, but Mischievous Jess and jockey Rodrigo Vallejo might have the right mindset this time to luck out and win themselves the All American Futurity.
