5 Horse Hacks and Tricks
1. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has so many great uses, especially with horses, and it’s inexpensive and can be found at any grocery store. It can be applied to shallow cuts and scrapes as a protectant layer, and it can be used to soothe annoying insect bites. It is also an inexpensive coat, mane, and tail conditioner. It can also be used as conditioner for horses’ hooves to prevent cracks.

3. Horse First Aid Kit
Horses can be graceful and beautiful. They can also be clumsy and accident prone. Making sure you have these things on hand can help in a pinch when your horse decides to have a crazy day. Here are a few of the things I always keep in my horse first aid kit:
1. Vet wrap, for minor cuts.
2. Vetericyn spray.
3. Wire Cutters.
4. Tweezers.
5. Gauze Pads.

4. Homemade Horse Treats
My horses are treat spoiled. They think they deserve a treat for everything. That may be partially my fault, though. Horse treats are fun to make, and it’s nice to know what is going into the treat that you’re feeding your horse. These also make super cute and inexpensive gifts for your horse crazy friends. Here are some easy to make and fun horse treats.

5. Custom Horse Brushes
We groom our horses all the time, so why not make some super cute brushes for the task? You can make them as simple or as intricate as you want. This will work best on wooden brushes, and you can do something simple like in this Pinterest post or something super fancy, if you’re artsy.
