GMI

Great Meadow International, a breathtaking equestrian venue located in The Plains, Virginia, will be hosting The FEI Nations Cup Eventing series this weekend and RIDE TV will be live streaming the event on July 7th-8th on RIDE TV GO for FREE. This series was established for the international equestrian community to come together and compete with one another in eight different competition arenas around the world.

As the only North American venue on the schedule for the series, Great Meadow International invites riders from all over the world to the Virginia countryside to compete at what might be the most scenic equestrian park in the world. The equestrian park has hosted this leg of the FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series for three consecutive years and has provided a family-friendly atmosphere in which spectators can enjoy events, food, music, and much more.

The event will begin on Friday, July 6th, offering free general admission to the public, autographs from favorite competitors, performances from talented music groups, and much more. On Saturday, July 7th, all eyes will be glued to the main arena, where there will be events such as Dressage, Cross Country, and Show Jumping and you can watch live from your couch on RIDE TV GO. July 8th will provide spectators with more eventing, a brunch, an awards ceremony and a competitors’ party! With RIDE TV GO, you can watch every second of the action for FREE, as we will be streaming LIVE from the event from July 7th to July 8th.

In preparation for the event, the Meadow Market has been largely renovated since last year’s event, sporting a whole new layout, space for a stage, a beer and wine garden, and much more for spectators and families to enjoy. In addition, Great Meadow has added tailgating space that overlooks out onto the arena. There will even be a tailgate competition, with the theme being “Around the World”! Who will come through with the best decorated tailgate? The winner will be announced on Sunday, July 8th, along with the winning eventing teams.
With 57 horse/rider teams already registered and a whopping 15,000 spectators expected for the 2018 Great Meadow International, it is sure to be an entertaining affair! Countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and many more will be represented at the FEI Nations Cup Eventing series, and all countries came to win!

The USA eventing team combinations will include riders like Phillip Dutton of West Grove, PA on “Z”, Lauren Kieffer from The Plains, VA on “Vermiculus”, Boyd Martin from Cochranville, PA on “Tsetserleg”, Lynn Symansky on “Donner”, and so many more talented duos. This group of riders will compete in the combined test, hoping to outshine the other teams (you can find the full entry list here).

RIDE TV is excited to present to you LIVE coverage of the Great Meadow International leg of the FEI Nations Cup Eventing series on July 7th and 8th for FREE on RIDE TV GO. Join us in cheering on your country’s team and enjoy the beautiful views that the Virginia countryside has to offer this weekend.
